Data repository

Eastern Mediterranean Data Repository is the gateway to health indicators data tables for the region's 22 countries.  It provides access to over 80 datasets on priority health topics covering areas related to:

Health for all by all
  • Demographic and socioeconomic determinants.
  • Risk factors, life expectancy and mortality.
  • Burden of diseases.
  • Neglected tropical diseases.
  • Reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health.
  • Health financing.
  • Health workforce.
  • Health information systems.
  • Availability of medicines and selected medical devices.
  • Service delivery and service coverage.

Data are organized to monitor progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The indicators focus on health status and outcomes, risk factors as well as health system performance.

Many of these datasets represent the best estimates of WHO using methodologies for specific indicators that aim for comparability across countries and time; they are updated as more recent or revised data become available, or when there are changes to the methodology being used. Therefore, they are not always the same as official national estimates, although WHO whenever possible will provide Member States the opportunity to review and comment on data and estimates as part of country consultations.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: The dates noted for each data point in each data table reflect the year of publishing the report. The reference year for each data point can be observed in the published core indicators framework
