Eastern Mediterranean Regional Health Observatory

WHO’s gateway to health-related statistics for more than 80 key indicators for the countries of WHO’s Eastern Mediterranean Region. The Regional Health Observatory gives users online access to the annual data on regional SDG and core health related indicators and related publications, and presents comprehensive and reliable country-validated data.

In addition, the Health Observatory provides access to Profiles and briefs intended to serve as tools to monitor progress in the health of populations and health related programs. It also provides Statistics and thematic areas to highlight some key indicators using GIS presentations and infographics, and Metadata for all the core indicators to enhance country capacity to reliably report on the core indicators.

Regional progress report on the health and health-related SDGs

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development includes a vision of healthy lives and well-being for all ages. This Progress report on health and health-related SDG sprovides an update on progress toward the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region's health-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It presents regional trends between 2010 and 2022 for 50 health-related SDG indicators using available data from WHO and estimates from other United Nations agencies. The report reveals some successes at the country level amid a marked slowdown regionally, with setbacks across indicators on health, health risks and determinants, and access to services. We are at the halfway point for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: to reverse current trends and ensure the health and well-being of our population, we must take bold steps now.
